DETROIT-September 9, 2008-John C. Mozena, APR has joined starrconstand business communication as an account manager. An experienced public relations counselor and former reporter and editor, Mozena brings more than a decade of experience in technology, consumer goods, human services, economic development, health care and other industries to starrconstand's clients.
Most recently, Mozena was at Carhartt, Inc. where he developed a public relations function for the 120-year-old work global work apparel manufacturer. In addition to positions with Detroit-area public relations agencies, three years as a sole practitioner public relations counselor and in-house communications director experience at a regional technology company, Mozena also co-founded and spent 10 years as the primary public relations contact and spokesperson for the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail (CAUCE), the nation's first and largest anti-"spam" organization.
Mozena began his communications career as a reporter, covering Michigan's health care industry as a freelancer, staff writer and associate editor of Health Care Weekly Review, the state's premier health care policy and industry news publication.
He lives with his wife and son in Grosse Pointe Woods.
